Graduate Admissions

We have openings for a few undergraduate students to join the lab. If you are interested in evolution, ecological genetics or plant sciences, and are a dedicated student and highly motivated, please contact me at to discuss your research interests.

Graduate Students

We are currently looking for highly motivated graduate students with interests in plant evolution. More detailed information about the graduate program and the admissions process can be found here. The Friedman lab is part of the dynamic and integrative Center for Reproductive Evolution. SU Biology also has a strong group of people interested in plant ecology, evolution, and genetics & genomics. In addition, we share a campus with SUNY-College of Environmental Science and Forestry, providing lots of opportunity for interaction. Current graduate student stipends are ~$25,000/yr, with full benefits and tuition remission. Applications to the SU Biology graduate program are due in mid December. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a statement of interest, curriculum vitae, and GRE scores before applying to Jannice Friedman.
